Here are some shots taken in my favorite area of Canada known as the Kootenay Region in the Province of British Columbia. Nelson is probably my favorite town on the planet and I do spend a great deal of time there for work and play. Some of the nicest people I know live in the City of Nelson, which at one time was the Provincial capital of British Columbia. The thing I like most about Nelson is that you will not meet an average person in the whole city. Everyone appears to have their own special aura. There must be something in the water! here is a couple of shots of downtown Nelson.
My trip started from the City of Cranbrook (Sorry none of my shots turned out) here is the Village of Fairmont Hot Springs.
Not Far from Fairmont is the world famous Skookumchuck Diner.
The world famous Yahk Hotel. Meet out of work Loggers! Cold beer & cheap food. This is the Ferry that runs on Highway 23 on the arrow lakes. Between Revelstoke and Nakusp Here is the optional ferry just outside of Balfour /Crawford Bay (Creston B.C.) Again this is a bit of an out of the way trip that can't be missed on a Motorcycle. It is the best rated road for motorcycles by Baz. Your other option is to take the Salmo highway which has about 10,000 less curves! These are some of my friends from S.T.N. I rode with in Sept. 2004
Here are some pictures taken between Nelson & Nakusp. Notice the traffic jams! And this was taken in the peak of their busy season. The booming downtown Metropolis of Silverton, B.C.
Here are some shots taken in between Nelson BC on highway 31 & 31A which includes the Ghost town of Sandown BC. I hope you like twisties! Old miners quarters from the turn of the century. This area is loaded with abandoned silver & gold mines.
Here are some shots of the Ghost Town of Sandon BC. A very interesting day can be had just seeing the relics of yesteryear which ended up at this old mine site. The Old Mine Works The Local Brothel (It appeared to be closed on my visit) Miners Houses Old mine works support buildings. An old locomotive
