You Can’t Do That On YouTube (YCDTOYT) is loosely based on the original YCDTOTV show but it only features child actors. It is hosted by 12 year-old Nick Manolakos.  The show has four main stage skits, opposite sketches, and keeping with traditions, green slime is triggered when someone says “I don’t know” and water when someone says “water.”

YCDTOYT is a Youth Acting for Television Workshop
The Youth Acting for Television Workshop is for kids who want to try out acting as they help to create monthly installments of YCDTOYT. The workshop gives children the much-needed practical experience to become professional actors. Some kids find that acting is not their thing while others say “this is what I want to do and I’m actually doing it!”

The workshop also gives kids an opportunity to write and improvise skits, and try their hand at special effects and other aspects of creating a show. They rehearse and tape YCDTOYT in 4-hour sessions on two to three Saturdays per month and try to complete one 12-minute episode every month and post it on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/ycdtoyt.

The shows are posted on YouTube as they are completed so family friends and the world can interact with the show. Recently some fans have sent in scripts that they have written for YCDTOYT, which the producer intends to use.

Roger Price and Geoffrey Darby who created WTYO and YCDTOTV tried to clone the series for WGBH in Boston, and aired on PBS across America. Most of this information is courtesy of Geoff Darby.
The series was created between 1982 and 83
seasons of YCDTOTV, when they were unsure if there was going to be another YCDTOTV season but were forced to decease the series since it made Nickelodeon very angry.
