 Kevin
Somers and Jono Gebert go into a library and Ruth
Buzzi plays a librarian named Miss Shell who
demnds them to be quiet while they talk loudly to
one another and spot Marc Baillon sleeping at a
table while both Lisa Ruddy and Christine McGlade
are at the same table reading who finds them just
as distracting. While both Kevin and Jono open a
book whether its about the wildnerness or car
chasing the books bring out that noise upsetting
the people in the library and suddenly they open
a book about World War II and chucks the books at
her which causes the books to explode towards her
as she persistently tells them to shush while
being shot half to death.
Lisa goes into the library asking the head
librarian (Played by Les Lye) if they have the
volume's of books like Gone with the Wind and War
& Peace as he's surprised that she is into
classic books at an age like hers but later on
tells her she only wants them so she can stand on
them to reach for something at home.
Marc Baillon
really wants to go to the concert with Christine
McGlade and talks to Kevin and Jono about it but
the two of them say they're going with her and
gives them a dog leash telling him only a dog
would go out with him but it gives him an idea
since he found that Christine has a dog and gave
her a leash as a gift so she kisses him as he
thinks that he is wooing her so tries more ideas.
Ross tries to trick Kevin into buying his car for
50 dollars as it was only owned by a little old
lady beforehand who rarely drove it but tells him
he's too young to drive but Ross tries to
convince him into buying it to get all the girls
but he tells him he doesn't have trouble with
girls and try to sell it to Marc.
Both Jono and Kevin ask at a different time to
Christine to look into their eyes and what does
she see in order to go to the concert with one of
them and she acts sarcastic towards them.
Ross goes to Marc about buying his car telling
him he can win a date with a girl since he has a
hard time and the gas price is very good now but
only has 50 dollars when Ross charges him 100 but
Ross still accepts so Marc tries to win Christine
over that way to go to the concert with her.
Jono brings back a
stack of books at the library as the head
librarian tells him that they're three months
overdue and has a new penalty for bringing them
in late as Miss Shell pies him in the face and
later on sends him to Public Library Late Returns
Department which is of course the dungeon with
Kevin whom was also overdue with renting books
there as she tortures the two of them.
So when he asks
her she tells him he's got to be kidding but
tells her that he has a new car so that changes
her mind.
Kevin accepted a date from Lisa although she's
too young for him he accepts so he won't have to
pay for bus fare but finds out everyone else has
a date. Lisa tells him they're going to be late
and later on discovers that they're going to a
classical concert and tries to back out.
Christine goes outside the studio with Marc and
finds out that his car is a piece of junk and it
barely drives while Kevin and Lisa go to her
Daddy's car to the concert and then Jono brings
out a gorgeous older blonde woman and takes her
in his corvette with Kevin feeling bummed out.
Some memorable
skits include Jono and Kevin in a dungeon as
Kevin tells him that he can get out of the chains
but then hangs himself upside down.
Ruth Buzzi's
character as the old lady in the theatre asks
Christine if she has a kleenex and when she
offers her one she blows her nose in a very gross
way and then hands it back to her as it's stuck
to Christine's hand.
Marc asks Lois at
the cafeteria what the special is for the day and
tells him what it is in French when Marc finds
out that it's rat tails sauted in rotted cabbage
since the rest don't understand that language and
are eating it.

This episode
exists but it's a promo copy when CTV
was putting the show together and along with the
blank spots for the commercial breaks. It also
doesn't feature music during the opening or
closing credits, even before the commercial
breaks and no sounds effects or canned laughter
either which was put in later on. The shows in
excellent quality and a special thanks to Jim
Clarke for going to the CTV
storage room to dig this one out.
Kevin introduced Max
Webster this time instead of
Christine since it was one of his favourite
bands. Their song "Lip Service" was
very different than most of the songs performed
on this show. It also has a similar feel to a Frank
Zappa song too.
Although it's
unknown when this show aired in late 1979 it was
probably one of the last one's with Marc Baillon
since his voice was starting to crack and he was
looking a bit more mature too.
