Christine attempts to make an introduction to the pilot episode but however Kevin Somers and Jono Gebert burst through the screen and Christine is in pain.

Then the shows producer/director Ross (Les Lye) is auditioning kids for the show but is turning alot down and a desperate mother (Ruth Buzzi) tries to get her little boy Kevin Schenk on the show as he did a soap pad TV commercial at one point but Ross isn't interested and thinks he's a little girl and Kevin kicks him yelling "I'M NOT A GIRL!!!!!" and his mother tries everything to get him on the show including putting a dress on him and then dresses him up as Gene Simmons from KISS.

Meanwhile Ross tells Gebert and Somers that he needs only one 14 year old boy on the show as they are both the best of friends and suddenly it's war to see who goes on. Somers fools Gebert to wear a white Saturday Night Fever outfit on stage and all but Gebert knows it's never good to wear white so he does so and Ross gets him to take off his clothes and all he has left is his socks and underwear as his underwear is white and Ross says that won't do so Gebert runs off the stage.

Also there's other comedy skits as some kids try to call Christine with a Moose horn as her nickname is Moose to try and pie her in the face and there's the locker jokes and opposite skits like in it's sister show "You Can't Do That On Television"

Then Trooper performs three of their classic hits and after their last number "Raise a Little Hell" Kevin's desperate mother tries to convince the band for her son to play in their band as he is in KISS make up but they're not interested. Ross however says he has something for her and she forgets about Kevin as she says she's going to be a star!

An excellent episode as it truly introduced a new twist to the sister show You Can't Do That On Television
Although it showed clips of the audience laughing at some of the skits it was not recorded in front of a studio audience except for at the very least, the link sketches as well as the scenes of Trooper performing.

The pilot itself was almost like a New Years Eve Countdown type of show. The audience was going wild on Trooper's last hit they played on the show "Raise a Little Hell" as the audience were standing up clapping along.

Also some of the skits were remade from their sister show You Can't Do That On Television.
This pilot was shown on a Saturday morning as it was soon to be introduced as a prime time TV show and ran for an hour before it became a series in the fall as it aired on Saturday mornings for a half hour long.

They advertised tickets for the taping of the show separately on the sister show
You Can't Do That On Television from the taping of the music segments (the live audience sketches were taped on March 24, the day they had to re-run the St. Patricks Day [Green Slime Show] episode, the Trooper segments were done on March 22).

It's unfortunate the series was short-lived as the pilot of this show looked really promising for kids. But of course it was an odd combination to have musical guests as it doesn't too well for 11 year olds and especially airing on prime time.
