I was given a bunch of little maple logs for my wife to turn (we like to play in the studio together during the winter). Gardening season came before she got to them so I turned them before they started to crack. I enjoy playing with color and doing something to make things more than what they are obviously intended to be.  These are more than just wood bowls because they have color and texture not typical of wood bowls.

They are finished with an acrylic paint and a paste wax. Some have added texture with molding paste.
