These “Sea Forms” were conceived for the Douglas Baker gallery of Minneapolis to display at the Collectors of Wood Art forum in Philadelphia, Sept. 2005.
I was thinking about the little sea creatures I see scooting in the water at the beach. My dog “Tigger”loves to go fishing for these little guys.
She really looks like a Tigger when she’s jumping after them. The wood I used is Bocote and the inserts in the openings are African Blackwood. The biggest one featured on this page is about a 2 1/2”diameter and 7”long. I made the bases from a 3/4” acrylic sheet.
