FAMILY REUNION 2007
ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT
ALERT ALERT:
I know we are months away but we decided to get out a letter early to make
everyone aware
of some
changes…Although it is not our turn to host this year I have made a group
booking at the Saskatoon Travelodge at the corner of
Circle Drive and Idywald. I have group booked 20 rooms at a
discount rate. We did an exhaustive search for other opportunities and the
Travelodge is the all around best for price, quality and services. You will need
to call the hotel and book your room under your own credit card under Fast
Reunion by 1 September 2007. Reservations can be made by
calling the hotel directly at the toll free number 888-278-4209. Please mention
that you are attending the "Fast Reunion" & would like to reserve
within this room block.
Highlights from the Past
Christmas 2004 at Mikkie's
"Show me the light", "SHOW ME THE LIGHT!!!" a
memorable quote from Mikkie. Christmas eve after "Draiddle" the
Christmas elf came, Mikkie had gathered the children to see Rudolf was outside
and that they better hurry to bed. Rudolf and the reindeer were played by
Brett and Chet with the appropriate red flashlight. They however, got
their signals mixed up resulting in Mikkie yelling out the window while the kids
watched for Rudolf. The light finally came on resulting in much
disorganized hurrying to get to bed. Young Dadye in the excitement asked
where Brett was so he could see Rudolf. Mikkie with the quick response
indicated that he was currently indisposed in the Bathroom.
It is certainly a memorable Christmas when all the family can be
together. Much to Collin's horror however, was that it was his house we
invaded and we all want to do it again next year.

Check out this years Family Letter 2003
. As some of you maybe aware Christmas at our
household
is a challenging experience. The kids must be challenged to receive their
presents. In years past this could continue all day. One year it
took them until almost dinner time to find all their presents. The
challenges often include various games, searching, out door orienteering and
puzzles. This year was actually fairly short. It was family poker and the
entire pot had to be won before opening the presents. Even with the 0530
start and a break to BBQ breakfast, the presents were opened by
1200.
Brett and I took a tour to Saskatchewan to visit Gord while on
holidays
in July. We stayed at Taylor's Cabin at Christopher lake and as usual we
had a great time. There is no point in going on holidays if you are not
going to have a great time. It actually started earlier where I went to
visit Garnet
and Karen in Ontario. What a place Garnet has developed. He has a
beautiful pool which tends to be important in Ontario. Needless to
say I made great use of it. Plus the great humour in watching Zander
perfect his belly flop. I came back and immediately jumped in the camper
and drove to Saskatchewan. We did all the usual things, Water football,
played cards, SCUBA diving, and of course daiquiris. One must always bring
the blender.
This Spring has been
extremely busy at work.
We did however, go to the Jasper Aquathon in May
02. Brett and I road the waves of the Athabasca river in blow up arm
chairs it was quite hilarious. Check it out in Christmas
Letter 2002

SURVIVAL WEEKEND
Don't break the blender if you intend to
survive. Gord forgot the spoon in the blender
resulting in small leak and no daiquiris. In
actuality we took the kids out for basic woods survival
over the Easter weekend. Don't
forget to check out our Family Letter 2001.
