I really enjoyed the project, although I found not knowing what the
final layout would be frustrating. I had promised my husband I would
do as much of the quilt as possible out of my scrap bag --and I did.
We only purchased the backing and used it for the back and the outside
edges. However, there were times when I wanted to know where the square
would be ultimately placed so I could choose/balance my colors better.
My husband says your mystery quilt helped teach me patience!
For the most part, I tried your new techniques. I was taught to quilt by hand and am not very good with a sewing machine...and my triangles really show it. When my granddaughter sleeps under it in her crib, I doubt that she'll notice the not-quite matched corners. Hopefully, someday, she will ask about the verses I embroidered on each block (both the block name and the scripture reference). |
