ISLAND MAGIC MENTORING PROGRAMMEOver a four year period, $500 will be given annually to
each of TWO members who apply to attend calligraphy conferences. The Mentoring Programme application is not based on a
particular level of calligraphic skill and, therefore, may be awarded to anyone
from beginner to advanced level of experience, but the applicant should have a
basic knowledge of calligraphy. Guidelines and qualifications are as follows: -
The applicant has been a paid up member of the Warmland Calligraphers of the - The applicant is an active contributing member of the guild who attends classes and/or workshops, attends the guild meetings and/or participates in gallerias, practical demonstrations, talks, and/or otherwise contributes to the general activities of the guild. - The applicant contributes time and effort by serving on a committee and/or helping with the newsletter by way of articles, editing, distribution, etc. - Priority will be given for major conferences requiring travel. - No person may receive these monies more than once. - Successful applicants are required to share their experience with the Guild. An article for the newsletter is mandatory. You may choose to give a picture/slide presentation of the conference and your class(es) in particular, conduct a “hands on” session at one of our meetings, or teach a workshop using techniques learned at the conference attended -
Successful applicants must share three of their FINISHED pieces
showing the techniques learned.
