Welcome to Warmland Calligraphers of the Cowichan Valley
*
Warmland Calligraphers of the Cowichan Valley is a non-profit group formed to facilitate the exchange of information between calligraphers and to promote interest in and appreciation of calligraphy as an art form within the community. This purpose is furthered by making available workshops, classes, exhibitions and lectures on calligraphy and related arts. The Guild is not a charitable organization and is organized exclusively for pleasure, and any profit realized is used to further the goals of the group without monetary gain to any individual member.
The Warmland Calligraphers of the Cowichan Valley held their inaugural meeting on April 4, 1995. Twelve members were in attendance, the treasury was set up, and annual membership dues were established.
Today, four of those original members are still members of our Guild.
* Jean Junor's "Calligraphic Hands" won the design contest for our Guild's banner in 1999. Judith Lovell, who designed the logo in 1995, reproduced the design on silk.
