Kent Morrill, beloved, husband, father, and grandfather fell asleep in the arms of His Lord on the 15th April 2011.

Please keep Kent's family, his long time friend, Buck Ormsby, and many Wailers in your prayers.

Kent will be missed by his family, friends and fans, but his spirit will "Live Forever" in the music he gave us.

Thank you, Kent from the next generations of Wailers fans.

Wailer Book and Documentary:

The story of the Boys From Tacoma and their contribution to the music scene world wide is now in the initial stages with a notable writer in England willing to put a couple chapters together for his publisher…..and if it is received like we expect it to be….the Wailers story and history will get published world wide. Of course it’s too soon to speculate but we feel honored that there is genuine interest in the Wailers contribution to early rock music. At the same time we are working on a DVD documentary to go along with the book. We will keep everyone up on the progress.

Another “Two Car Garage” to follow:

As we mentioned before The Ventures and The Wailers 50th Anniversary CD, “Two Car Garage” was received so well that when the Ventures return from their current tour of Japan, we will start putting Volume 2 together for a release in the spring. We always look forward to working with Do Wilson and the rest of the Ventures.

Kent’s Album Coming:

And speaking of CD releases, Buck Ormsby is planning the re-release of an album Kent recorded a while back but never really reached the public for various reason entitled: “Hard To Rock Alone” Although recorded earlier the music is still very much current. This is a monster CD. More info to follow.

The Wailers Performing Arts Foundation...

...has developed music mentoring programs, named in honor of former Wailer Richard Dangel, offering opportunities to all youth who desire to pursue learning to play music on an instrument of their choice. The music mentoring programs are now operating in various locations of the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound. The mentors involved in the program are knowledgable, experienced, and highly trained voluteers in their fields of music. We solicit instruments from manufacturers or music stores or will purchase them at reduced costs for the WPAF instrument program where, along with teaching, support and training, we will furnish an instrument to a young person in they cannot afford one, as well as furnish instructional materials. The programs operate on an eight week schedule and then resume with continuous 8 week terms in levels of beginning, intermediate, and advanced participation. The WPAF, through Board Member support, has organized events and activities that have raised funds for operating costs, and are in the process of submitting Grants to key and potential funding organizations. As we progress in our endeavors, we plan to expand our mentoring programs to include seminars, workshops and eventually establish into public school systems offering alternative courses for disadvantaged, underprivileged, and potentially talented youth with a desire to get involved in music and the programs. The Robin Roberts Scholarship Fund is set up to provide incentives and opportunities for advanced music students who are qualified under a set criterion to continue with their music interests and education. The WPAF Robin Roberts Scholarship Fund will also co-op with other youth oriented organizations to award scholarships to deserving and qualified youth in the fields of music and musical arts.

We now have a very cool jute box on The Fabulous Wailers web site where all will be able to download single songs from the Wailers past and present. Just go to the site at www.thefabulouswailers.com and click the link “music” and you will see the cool jute box with many of our tunes that one can download for just $.99 each. If you see a song you would like to add to your collections just click on it or play the number on the jute box and you will hear a sample of the tune. Then if you do choose to download it click on the coin slot that says “Buy Now” and that will take you to a page describing the song , which album it is from a nd the price of the transaction. Then if you purchase it….you will be sent to Pay Pal and once you have paid there….back to the Wailer’s site where you can click on “download now” and you should be able to save the tune to you hard drive, etc and play it or copy it to what ever format you wish to play it on.
