About Us
The Langford Lakes and Area Protection Society (LLAPS) was registered as a charitable society in 1995 for the expressed purposes of:
- Preserving the considerable characteristics, historical glacial traits and diversity of the Lakes and Area in topography, soils, water, groundwater and vegetation,
- Protecting the Lakes and adjacent land area against industrialization,
- Preserving the recreational value of the Lakes and the Lake areas,
- Monitoring any suggested change in zoning of the adjacent land areas,
- Enabling members and the general public to express their views and be kept informed of issues in the Langford Lakes area,
- Co-operating with other societies, Langford council, and senior government in protecting the natural unique and scenic value of the lakes and adjacent areas for the use and pleasure of the growing population, visitors, and tourists.
