Vincent Pigeon Photographs Contact me
Biography: Vincent Pigeon enjoys cycling and hiking, two pastimes which permit him to
engage in his favourite hobby, photography. He first experimented with photography on a trip to Europe in
1973 and has since then rarely been seen without a camera. Over the years, he has been an avid student of
the art, taking numerous courses and workshops through the Vancouver School Board and other groups, learning
from such well-known Vancouver photographers as Ron Long, John Heckerott, Paul Fremes, Dave Montizambert,
Martin Hatfield, Nancy Chu, Jim Britton and Carolyn Sullivan. A large part of his library consists of photography magazines,
text and photo books and other materials he has gathered, read and re-read over the years in his ongoing
study of the art. Photographs: With excellent instruction and a keen eye, Vincent has succeeded over the years to
accumulate a collection of beautiful landscape and travel photos. He is particularly proud of "Nine O'Clock Gun",
a double exposure of a full moon over a firing of the cannon that is detonated at nine o'clock every evening
in Vancouver, B.C's Stanley Park. He has excelled at reflections, of buildings off other buildings, and
of structures and boats off water. He is also very pleased with his candid photos of children. The photo "Karate
Kid" was selected for the front cover of the Roundhouse Community Centre's (in Vancouver) Summer 1998 catalogue.
