To Those Who Look Away

She spreads her legs,
stretched atop the
bedspread,
opening up,
revealing a
secret
known only to her.

A smile spreads
across her face,
her body stretched
atop the bedspread,
legs spread,
mouth open,
teeth glistening.

No one regards her.

She would only be loved
by a great painter,
not loathed
or scorned
or ignored.

A look of peace
rests in her eyes
as she lies,
her body turned
to the side,
their mouths full
of lies
as she rests
and dreams of
what they do not know.
