One Name, One Fear

Sealed inside the suffocating bubble,
the people stand on blood soaked soil,
reciting a pledge of allegiance.

Fifty million black
______birds baked into a pie.

A single tear falls like a bomb,
detonating, exploding, damaging.
Anger and disbelief.

The world outside the bubble
screams.
Who is being terrorized now?

Here's a bullet, take one, now two--
target practice all around.

Birds of a feather
______flock together.

Everyone suffers.
Everyone blames.
Everyone shouts.

And yet, they are oblivious.
They can't see the blood;
They can't hear the voices.

Who can be so blind?
Who can be so deaf?

It's time they lost their virginity.

If only we could throw back
their cloaks of isolation and
force their ears to listen,
their eyes to see

by the dawn's early light.

Why do we care?
They made us.

They made us care and now we
drown in our knowledge and
choke on what they don't know.

They can't.
Will they ever?
Not for awhile.

Not until they're done getting high,
high on the dream,

the [...] dream.
