Porec - a Resort Destination for all Ages
An evening promenade in the setting sun will reveal vistas that have entertained visitors for thousands of years. Ancient Decumanus, the main street of the old town, is a perfect place to explore as you think about your evening’s entertainment choices: will you choose jazz in a garden or a classical music concert in the Basilica or a cocktail in Marafor Square? Whatever the choice, sit back, relax and immerse yourself in Porec's ambience.
Many cultural events are organized throughout the year: classical music concerts (from May to September) in St. Euphrasius' Basilica, jazz evenings in the Museum of Porec, or picturesque folk feasts in nearby Tar and Funtana. Porec's beaches welcome visitors from all over the globe and hosts some of the oldest European naturist beaches.
Porec is famous for natural landscapes and a culture that embraces and welcomes visitors. Archeologists suggest that the first visitors arrived some 6000 years ago. Since then visitors have enjoyed the many beaches, cafes, and pristine waters of the region. It is interesting to note that the first printed tourist guide was published in 1845.
