Master of Celebration

Welcome to our celebration of the Mighty Deeds of God.
We  have learned this month that of all the mighty deeds of God,
the greatest is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Through His death Christ paid the penalty for all the sins ever committed
or to be committed in the future.
Christ allowed Himself to be sacrificed as a lamb for our sins.
He is the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world.
By the miracle of His resurrection from the dead Christ
has shown us that we can all live forever some day,
that God will take away all tears shed in history and
give us eternal life and happiness forever.
This is the greatest and mightiest act of God for
because of of His crucifixion and resurrection,
we will be His children in His loving care forever.

Song  Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace,
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I was lost but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Then when we first begun.

Amazing Grace,
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I was lost but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see

Scripture Reading  Katharine Psalm 23

The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Bible Skit

The blessing of Abraham
And said, By Myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; AND IN THY SEED SHALL ALL THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED; because thou hast obeyed My voice.
Abraham obeyed God and left Babylon to travel to Canaan to make a new home, Abraham trusted
God to give him a son, Isaac, through a miracle and Abraham obeyed God and was willing to sacrifice his only begotten son and heir as a "lamb to take away the sins of the world", foreshadowing the sacrifice of Christ the Messiah and Son of God.
And to thy seed, which is Christ… And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise."
Galatians 3:7-9, 14, 16, 29

Homily - Master of Celebration

The Bread - Christ When the children of Jacob
wandered in the desert for 40 years on their way back to the
promised land after being slaves for hundreds of years in Egypt
God gave them a miracle of bread every day - sweet honeydew
manna.  The night before the children of Jacob left Egypt and slavery, God commanded the Israelites to eat unleavened bread and to drink wine to remember that God saved them from slavery by a great miracle - sending angels to kill the firstborn children of the Egyptians.  Christ came to the Jews and to us proclaiming that He is the Bread of Life. "I am the bread of life." Later Jesus added, "unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life."  We take Him by faith, we trust in His death on the Cross for our redemption. We look to His resurrection and ascension as the first fruits of our own resurrection soul and body.

Offerings

We have adopted a senior citizen, Mr. Harvey Grahn, who resides in Stoney Plain Nursing Home.
The class has agreed to write cards and notes to Mr. Grahn on a regular basis as he receives no
visitors, lost his only son in tragic circumstances, lost his wife to a sudden heart attack and has
been abandoned by the remainder of his family since.  We will now accept the students' cards and
Mr. Tannas will deliver them as well as a class picture to Mr. Grahn this weekend before Xmas.

Hail Holy Queen
Hail holy queen enthroned above, O Maria
Hail mother of mercy and of love, O Maria
Triumph all ye cherubim
Sing with us ye seraphim

Our life, our sweetness here below,  Oh, oh, oh, oh Maria
Our hope in sorrow and in love,  Oh, oh, oh, oh Maria
