Going By Bowen Island From The Deck Of A Charter Boat
Bowen Island is located just nineteen kilometers
(12 miles) and a twenty minute Ferry ride northwest of Vancouver, British
Columbia. The Island itself is about 52 square kilometers (20
square miles) in total size with about 37 kilometers (23 miles) of coastline.
It is said that the Deer population exceeds the 2700 or so permanent
human population. We have only lived on Bowen since September 1997 but
have come to love our retirement island and her people, places and animals.
One of our newest residents is a cougar who arrived from another
island or the mainland some 3 miles away. How it got here is unknown but
speculation is that he swam or hitched a ride on a log.
Our Photos Were Shot by us as well by our company that came to visit during the summer and fall of 1998 in and around our home as well on Mount Gardner.

Looking West from "Van's Bluff" on Mt Gardner. Pasley Island in the middle, Popham Island and Wortcombe Island on the left. Hermit is in the rear with Mickey and Ragged Island on the right.
Just another October Sunset on Bowen Island. We tend to get blase after awhile.
