HOW TO REDUCE YOUR WCB ASSESSMENT

By qualifying for the maximum experience rating discount, your WCB assessments could be decreased by 50%. However, a maximum experience rating surcharge could double your base assessment rate. For example, an organization with a base premium rate of $5.00 would pay only $2.50 if it had earned the maximum discount, or pay $10.00 if it was assessed the maximum surcharge.

THE PRESENTER

Val Wuorinen CD PhD CRSP has been involved in training and education for the past 45 years. Over the last thirty years he has served as an inspector at the WCB of BC, manager of the WCB Education Section, scientist at the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, a faculty member in the OHS Diploma Program at BCIT, as well as a consultant. A Canadian Registered Safety Professional since 1979, he has been featured as a speaker at health and safety conferences from coast to coast. He is the author of over 30 safety publications including The Employer’s Health and Safety Manual: British Columbia and The Employer’s Health and Safety Manual: Alberta.
