Character
Advancement
As
your character progresses, you should see their personalities
and skills develop. Sometimes you wish them to learn a new
ability or gain a new skill. There are several ways to advance
your character through RP, for it is considered bad RP to
just give them abilities when it's convenient. Below is a
list of the many ways you can advance your character.
The Curio Shop
The
Curio Shop provides many
different services from selling arcane items and fetishes,
to making and breaking curses. Crone is the owner, and may
send your character on a quest to retrieve an item and reward
them with knowledge and experience.
Garrison
Characters
of good alignment who wish to improve their combative skills
can go to the Garrison for training in all aspects of melee
weaponry and armour. They can also learn some miscellaneous
skills such as repairing, fletching, dodging, etc.
Lochdach
Characters
can contact the Lochdach
if they wish to learn some of the more nefarious skills such
as stealing, picking locks, picking pockets, spying, etc.
Be warned, that the price is high for the darker skills.
Magic Guilds
If
you wish your character to gain a new spell or ability, one
way it to send them to one of the many Magic
Guilds. There your character can take up training, purchase
spell scroll or spell books. If you wish your character to
learn a new ability from scratch, don't immediately make them
a powerful adept. Growth through RP is much more enjoyable
for both the reader and the writer.
Mercenary Guild
If
you wish your character to learn new combative skills, but
they are of evil alignment, you can send them to the Mercenary
Guild where they will receive knowledge such as weaponry,
use of armour, repairing, fletching, etc.
Quests
Knowledge,
experienced and items may be gained by going on quests. You
may write your own quest, or you may seek one out from another
player. Crone in the Curio Shop, the House of Lords and the
Palace will send your character on a quest if they are seeking
temporary employment.
