Getting
Started
The
Unknown Lands is becoming richer and more involved each day
as its many members build upon its lands, people and society.
As a result, getting started may be a daunting experience.
To make your introduction into this vibrant new world easier,
you should read through the website and familiarise yourself
with the many characters and places, as well as etiquette.
This
section offers the information needed to build your first
bio and make your first post. If you have any questions, post
in the OOC folder and a member of staff will be along to help
you.

If
you are new to Delphi
and still finding your way around the forums, it may be helpful
to visit the Delphi
Community Learning Centre. There you will learn how to
make posts, reply to posts and navigate the many varieties
of forums.
The
first thing we suggest to new members is to associate themselves
with the layout of the Unknown Lands. All the information
you need can be found on this website. This section in particular
will help lead you through the first crucial steps needed
for joining the Unknown Lands.
First
we ask that you read through the Getting Started section of
the website. This contains information necessary for members
both new and old.
Rules
& Conduct: while we strive
to minimize the number of rules, there are still guidelines
that must be followed to ensure that storylines move smoothly
and members are able to write together amicable. We especially
ask that you familiarise yourself with the various forms
of God Modding.
Folder Descriptions:
the next step in familiarising yourself with the Unknown
Lands is to understand each folder. This will make it easier
for you to visualise the layout of the lands. Also using
the Maps of the Lands will help you in this regard. As the
Lands are ever growing and changing, the maps are also ever
growing and changing.
Creating a Bio:
once you're familiar with the rules and layout of the Unknown
Lands you are ready to create a biography for your character.
In this section you will be given a detailed description
of everything that is required for your bio to be accepted.
When it's ready, you need only post it in the Sigs &
Bios folder and a member of staff will approve it within
a day. If this is your first bio, we may wish to contact
you via email through your profile. This is to ensure that
all members have a valid email address.
Once your bio is approved and your character has posted in
either the Visitors Centre or the Harbour Gates, the folders
will be opened to you and you will be able to begin writing
with other members.
There is a wealth of other information in the Unknown Lands
website to help ease you into our community of excellent writers.
If you cannot find an answer on the website, please contact
a member of staff either in the OOC folder or via email at
unknownlands@shaw.ca.
