Chapels
There
are two main religions in The Unknown Lands; the temple of
Annsacht and the temple of Cor.
With in the city and dotted throughout the lands on their
temples, though there are other, lesser known gods.
Annsacht
Also
known as: Mother, Daughter of The One, Goddess of the
Ethereal Realm, Goddess of Love
Symbol:
Annsacht really doesn't have a symbol associated with her,
but many ascribe the moon to her.
Description:
Annsacht disagreed with Cor's opinion for the need of hell.
She is the Goddess of Love in all forms and unconditionally
though she knows that is not always possible with the human
race. Among her staunchest opponents, she has been referred
to as the Divine Whore, though that title is completely misldeading
and inappropriate.
Clergy:
The priests and priestesses of Annsacht wear ecclesiastical
robes of green with a sash of their chosen color either around
their waist as a belt or over their shoulder as the priests
of Cor. The only one who has to wear a medallion of any type
is the High Priestess, and it is an emerald pendant and not
a true medallion. By clasping this pendant, the High Priestess
is able to communicate with Annsacht directly without the
need for a preparatory ritual.
The
High Priestess lives in the quarters within the Temple of
Annsacht, as do any of the others who choose to. Those who
serve Annsacht are free to marry if they choose. They can
live with their families out in the city or within the temple
compound.
There
are several men in the ranks of Annsacht's clergy. Many more
than there are women in Cor's clergy. The only requirement
Annsacht has is that her High Priest must be a Priestess.
She
extends the Comfort of Annsacht to any who have need. But
that comfort may not always be what the person wants or thinks
they need.

Cor
Also
known as: Father, Son of The One, God of the Physical
Realm
Symbol:
A many-rayed sun.
Description:
Cor was of the opinion that the Great Void was not enough
of a punishment, so he permitted the existence of the planes
of Hell. The demons and negative energies and spirits that
had been held at bay by The One's creation by virtue of being
on the other side of the Great Void rushed in to fill the
planes of hell.
Clergy:
The priests of Cor wear a medalion depicting a rayed-sun in
either bronze, gold, or silver. The High Priest wears a sun
combining all three metals. The face of the sun itself is
gold. The rays alternate gold, bronze, and silver.
The
priests all wear ecclesiastical robes of white with a sash
over their shoulder in roughly the same color as the medallion
they wear.
The
High Priest lives in the quarters within the Royal Temple,
near the palace on the Street of Temples. Other priests and
novices live in the main compound within the Temple of Cor.
Though
the priests are not sworn to celibacy, those who aspire to
the gold suns may not marry. Those who wear the silver and
bronze suns may marry but their families cannot live in the
temple compound.
Women
are allowed to enter the priesthood of Cor, but there are
very few who actually do.
