MEMBER BIOGRAPHIES
Soprano Christina Jahn has appeared with the Toronto Consort, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Opera Atelier, Aradia Baroque Ensemble,
Alberta Baroque Ensemble, the University of Calgary Celebrity Series, the Early Music Society of the Islands (Victoria), Vancouver Cantata
Singers and Elektra Women's Choir. She was the Virginia Best Adams Soprano at the 2003 Carmel Bach Festival in California. She has toured with
Sine Nomine Ensemble for Medieval Music across Eastern Canada, and with
Opera Atelier to Japan. Christina has recorded for Marquis, NAXOS, Skylark and CBC Records. In addition to extensive work in early music, Christina has also premiered and recorded a
number of new compositions by Canadian composers. Recent engagements include Handel's Dixit Dominus and Bach's Christ lag in Todesbanden with
DaCamera Singers and Alberta Baroque Ensemble in Edmonton, Charpentier's Grand Offices de Mort
with Toronto Chamber Choir, as well as a return engagement with Toronto Consort in their Praetorius
Christmas Vespers program, and Messiah with the Okanagan Festival Singers. This season Christina looks forward to
recreating the role of Serpina in Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona. Christina is Artistic Director of VoiceScapes.

Soprano Julie Harris holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Calgary and an Artist
Diploma from the University of Toronto. She also spent a year studying early music in The Hague for which
she received a grant from the Canada Council. Julie has appeared as a soloist with many choirs and orchestras,
including the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Toronto Chamber Choir, the Elora Festival Singers, the Aradia
Ensemble, Alberta Baroque (Edmonton), La Cetra (Vancouver), the Calgary Bach Festival Society and Calgary's Festival
Chorus, including numerous CBC broadcasts. Julie has also been engaged for roles in Baroque Opera with Opera Atelier
and the Toronto Consort. She was a soloist in Richard Einhorn's Voices of Light with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir.
Her interest in medieval music has taken her on tour with Toronto's Ensemble Sine Nomine. She has recorded
with Il Furioso on Toccata Classics released in 2006. In recital Julie has appeared in Toronto, The Hague, and
her native Calgary including Baroque Music Beside the Grange (Toronto), the University of Calgary Celebrity
and Organ Series and the Mountain View Connection. Since moving back to Calgary in 1999, she has created
and runs the Early Music Voices Concert Series. She is a member of Duo Seraphim with Toronto-based soprano Katherine Hill.
She also maintains a private voice studio and coaches for various local community choirs and high schools,
as well as directing the Collegium Musicum at the University of Calgary.

British-born bass-baritone Paul Grindlay has appeared with the Vienna Chamber Opera, the Portland
Baroque Orchestra, the Carmel Bach Festival, American Bach Soloists, Toronto Consort, the Studio de Musique
Ancienne de Montreal, the Vancouver Chamber Choir, Bach Choir and Cantata Singers, the Kingston Symphony
Orchestra, the Ottawa Choral Society, Pro Coro Canada, the Alberta Baroque Ensemble, the Calgary Philharmonic
Orchestra, Calgary Opera, the Richard Eaton Singers, Calgary Festival Chorus, Pacific Opera Victoria and
Opera Mississauga. He has recorded CDs of music by Buxtehude, Charpentier and Purcell for NAXOS Records with
the Aradia Baroque Ensemble, music of Kapsberger for Toccata Classics and a Praetorius Christmas Vespers
with Toronto Consort for Marquis. Recent engagements include Monteverdi's Orfeo in Edmonton, and
Haydn's Creation in Toronto. In August, Paul sang in the Early Music Vancouver production of
Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers. Upcoming concerts include Bach's St. John Passion with ProCoro in April.
This year Paul returns as Artistic Director of the Calgary Boys Choir. He also directs SuperSonic Men's Choir,
Airdrie Community Choir, Knox Presbyterian Church Choir and is on the music faculty at Rocky Mountain College.
He has become increasingly busy as a conductor, clinician, arranger and adjudicator, and
also serves on the Board of the Alberta Choral Federation.

Tenor Jerald Fast is a versatile performer in a wide range of styles. Jerald has appeared as a
soloist with numerous choirs and orchestras including the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, the Aradia
Ensemble, Toronto Chamber Society, the Elora Festival Singers and the Winnipeg Baroque Ensemble.
While living in Holland, Jerald performed with the Nieuwe Badkapel and was invited to join the
prestigious Netherlands Chamber Choir. Since moving to Calgary, Jerald has performed on the Mountain
View Connection series, University of Calgary Celebrity Series, and with the Calgary Bach Society,
Alberta Baroque, and Kantorei. Jerald has sung Mozart's Requiem with the Richard Eaton Singers, Handel's
Messiah with the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra and Haydn's Nelson Mass with the Spiritus Chamber Choir.
Recent performances include Handel's Messiah with the Okanagan Festival Singers, and Damon in Acis and Galatea on
the Early Music Voices Concert Series' 10th Anniversary Celebration.
