As Dennis Miller would say, "I don't want to go off on a rant, but..."

If you don't vote, don't complain

By exercising your right to not vote, you are giving your neighbours the right to choose for you. And if you think your neighbours are idiots, then you get what you deserve. Likewise if you complain that there is no choice, that all the candidates are as bad as one another, then maybe you need to get involved. Go to an all- candidates meeting and ask questions or grill the candidates until you find one worth supporting or just put your own name on the ballot. Democracy (even our weak version of it) sucks when people don't participate, but it sucks more when those people who don't get involved feel like they have a right to complain.

A bicycle is either a motor vehicle or it's not.

If you are sharing the road, all I ask is consistency. If you use your bike as a motor vehicle, then obey the rules of the road. Don't sneak up beside my car at a red light; don't ride through the crosswalk; and don't run stopsigns!
