I prefer not to tilt at windmills, but sometimes that is an unavoidable option when one talks of quests. I have many... some whimsical, some academic, some simply self-indulgent.

This may well be one of the better ways to check out how my brain works... but tread carefully, there may be booby-traps.

Nothing is more whimsical than toys but I have a knack for finding interesting toys and wanting to know more. If you are a collector (or even if you aren't) and you can fill me in on more details (when they were made and so on) I would be eternally thankful. Check my What the Heck? list for photo IDs.

Ongoing projects include frugal living, a book of nonsense poetry, researching homeschooling, and maintaining my Unofficial Guide to Victoria.

If I stumble into cash and free time in the future, I'd also like to pursue:

• filming a documentary on an inventor/conspiracy theorist whose self-published book I found gathering dust.
• writing a book and/or filming a documentary about dude ranches promotion using imagery of the mythical Old West.
• hanging out with a celebrity for a day just for the hell of it.
• cataloguing all our media -- books, music, and movies.
• completing two or three of the silverware and flatware patterns I have kicking around and rounding out our Denby tableware.
• finding a set of Denby Christmas tableware (Harlequin Holly) .

In the self-indulgent category, I keep track of things I want and like on a perpetual wishlist, handy for when people ask me what I want for Christmas or my Birthday.
