- Why are so many popular characters named Barney? It's not a common name -- I have
never known anyone named Barney. The name is a diminutive of Barnard or Barnabas (also
not common) and yet there is a Barney for every TV generation: Barney Fife, Barney Rubble,
Barney Miller, Barney Gumble and Barney the Dinosaur. Ack.

- Road rage. It is a relatively recently diagnosed condition in our society,
but it has been affecting the animated community for decades. Think back to Mister
Magoo and his oft hollered phrase "Road Hog!". Think of George Jetson, Fred
Flintstone, Homer Simpson. If Yosemite Sam were on the road today, you can bet
he'd exhibit classic signs of road rage.
