Corporate and group bookings are custom designed to accommodate your group's needs. A culinary tour is a great way to combine a meal with a team building activity or just a fun and indulgent day out.Choose from tours in Victoria, to the Cowichan Valley, Saanich Peninsula, Sooke, or Salt Spring Island. Eat and drink your way through farms, wineries, cheesemakers, a meadery, bakeries, and even forage for seaweed. Or custom build your tour to the Cowichan Valley with a West Coast Salmon and Wine Experience exclusive to Travel With Taste. First visit with an artisan cheesemaker then move on to wine! Visit one of only four Aboriginal owned wineries in the world. Tour their facility and see the vineyard on a private tour before being led through a tasting of their reds, whites, and blackberry port. While out touring, you’ll see the process of cooking salmon on pequin sticks over alder wood. The wild salmon will cook over the fire pit as you tour and taste. Then take your seats on the beautiful patio (weather permitting) or in the bistro and prepare for a wonderful meal. Choose a local spring salad with fruits and Hilary’s chevre, artisan breads and spreads, fire roasted marinated vegetables, smashed potatoes, and salmon of course. Enjoy wine with your meal and finish with a chocolatey dessert. Cuisine and Wine Day Tours :
Culinary Walking Tour of Victoria
Starting Saturday June 30 - - an urban forage by foot discovering the local’s favorite merchants in downtown Victoria. Sip, slurp and chomp your way on a guided tour devouring tastes of tea, cheese, Montreal Smoked Meat, lox, cured meats and pates, chocolate, coffee, special sweets and a little wine of course! Begin at 11am near the gates of Chinatown and waddle back by about 3pm. $79 per person plus 6% GST. Advance reservations required.
Cowichan Valley Cuisine & Wine Day Tour
Depart at 9:00am from your Victoria area hotel. Drive 45 minutes north to the Cowichan Valley enjoying spectacular scenery. Visit local wineries and taste outstanding wines made from the plentiful vineyards of the island chatting with wine makers, strolling through vineyards, and tasting the abundance of flavors our Vancouver Island wines have to offer. Begin with a private guided tour through a vineyard along with a private structured tasting at our first stop. Next, meet an artisan cheesemaker and sample his delicious offerings on our way to a gourmet three course lunch paired with Island wines. Try wild BC salmon, Cowichan Bay Farm chicken, or Salt Spring Island lamb. Return to Victoria about 4:30pm.
Cowichan tours generally run Wednesday through Saturday and are a huge hit! Guests never seem to want to leave each stop as we sip our way through the valley. All tastings, a three course lunch, wine and transportation including pick up and drop off is included $195 CAD + 6% GST per person for 4-6 persons. A private tour for two persons totals $550 CAD + GST.A Taste of the Saanich Peninsula
Visit farm gate wineries and an organic farm. Weekends are best for the Peninsula tour complemented by a two course lunch and visit with the chef in the Dining Room at Butchart Gardens. All tastings, garden entrance, a two course lunch, wine and transportation including pick up and drop off is included $225 CAD + 6% GST per person for 4-6 persons. A private tour for two persons totals $600 CAD + GST. Tours generally begin with pick up in Victoria at 9:30am and return about 4:00 or 4:30pm.
Culinary Escape to Gastronomic Salt Spring Island
This is a very special getaway to quaint and colorful Salt Spring Island. Start the day with an early morning ferry ride and get away to the real island life. Visit with the entrepreneurs that make Salt Spring a favorite delectable island, a baker, a cheesemaker, and a wine maker. Lunch at the exclusive Hastings House where Chef Marcel Kauer and team will prepare a private lunch to enjoy overlooking the ocean and pastoral views. Please inquire for dates, timing and prices.
