The Traditional Siamese Cat is a wonderful creature that is sometimes overlooked and can be under appreciated.  This website is dedicated to the support of the Traditional Siamese Cat.

I now add my praises in defense of the Traditional Siamese Cat. I personally do not like the appearance of the modern or wedge-head Siamese Cats, but this does not mean that they lack merit. I am not attacking the breed or the people who love them because any Siamese Cat is glorious. I am simply promoting the Traditional Siamese Cat.

I love this breed so much because I have always lived with one since childhood.  The Traditional Siamese Cat is the perfect pet for a person who appreciates Siamese cats for all that they are worth. They are affectionate, intelligent, vocal and quite robust. The Traditional Siamese Cat is the most common type of Siamese kept as a family pet. Many people like the idea of a Siamese Cat, but like myself do not like the looks of the Modern Siamese. The other consideration is cost. The Traditional Siamese Cat is generally easier and cheaper to acquire than a wedge-head Siamese because they are often breed by families for other families. If you are looking for a wonderful family pet, why not consider acquiring a Traditional Siamese Cat?

Professional breeders decided to develop the new look seen in the wedge-head. I do not like the look of this alternative form of Siamese. I prefer the more rounded face and robust body of Traditional Siamese cat. It is such a same that the Traditional Siamese can no longer compete in conventional cat shows. This is because the standards of what is considered a perfect Siamese have been changed to accommodate the new look. I do not think that this is fair to the majestic history of the breed. I believe that the Traditional and Modern Siamese Cats can co-exist in every household, breeding programs, the show ring and in our hearts.

Traditional Siamese Cat ~ Also know as the apple-head.  A Traditional Siamese Cat is nicely robust with a beautiful round face.

Classic Siamese Cat ~ A Classic Siamese Cat is basically an in between version of the Traditional and Modern types.

Modern Siamese Cat ~ Also known as the wedge-head.  A Modern Siamese Cat is quite slender with larger ears and more "sharper" features.
