My wife and I have travelled "Through the Back Door" in the past and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We have liked the freedom of changing our minds about where we will go and how we will get there on a day-to-day basis, but to do that you need to travel "light". Going to an eclipse site (particularly if you are a photographer or an avid astronomer) usually involves transporting lots of equipment. For that reason we have started to chase eclipses from the comfort of cruise ships or buses, where we don't have to pack our equipment around, where somebody else has the responsibility for logistics, and where hopefully we will be provided with some mobility in finding those wonderful "holes in the clouds".
