Reverse engineering challenge! Try and figure out what that mechanical device was before it got ripped apart. My theory is that it's a hover-scooter. There's a comfy, padded banana-shaped seat, and that L-shaped thing kinda looks like it was an engine. Even though this guy's spine has probably been broken in three places, I think he's still attached to his seat with a safety harness. That begs the question of why there aren't other safety devices installed, like, say, a parachute or an airbag. Look at the way this guy's equipped, all those little pouches and straps everywhere. Would it have been too much trouble to add a helmet? I know most superheroes these days think helmets look dorky, but I'm really surprised (given the nature of most battles) that superheroes almost never get a concussion or more serious head injuries.
