The Unh! Project
#1, May '97. Rarely does a zine show such innovation and humor as this one.
Tom distilled his comic book collection down to its essential elements -
the word balloon with its guttural genre moans - and reprinted the most
grotesque panels of the lot. Each of the scenes in here has a character
uttering things like "Nnnnggghhh!" "UUUaa--," or my favorite, the very
sanguine yet bestial "Yyaaaargggg!" Going page by page, catching such
short glimpses of storylines and pratfalls makes an incredible montage
of silliness. Hopefully this thing will continue as long as there are
superheroes ending sentences with "Ooder!" The only thing that could
possibly make this any better would be an audio soundtrack of the
publisher reading each panel.
