Amnesty International is an organization working to protect human rights worldwide. Among their supporters are Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn. This is a good place to start to get the real facts on politically and socially important events.
Positive Force is an activist group that works for fundamental social change and youth empowerment. They organize benefit and
free concerts, demonstrations and teach-ins and also do direct work with needy people. This group opposes racism, sexism,
homohobia, militarism, violence, classism, heirachy, ageism, excessive materialism, economic
inequality, censorship and discrimination against disabled people, among other things.
The mission of the Washington Free Clinic is to provide free primary health care services, to individuals
who lack access to care, through a culturally-diverse, volunteer-based organization with emphasis on
education, training and outreach.
More than a million Tibetans have died from the Chinese occupation of torture, starvation, and execution. More than 6,000 monasteries and their contents, irreplaceable jewels of Tibetan culture, were destroyed. This organization is trying to put an end to the brutality.
