Below are some of the groups that Fugazi have either played benefit concerts for or are connected to in some other way. If you know of any others, let us know.


Amnesty InternationalAmnesty International is an organization working to protect human rights worldwide. Among their supporters are Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn. This is a good place to start to get the real facts on politically and socially important events.


Positive Force Positive Force is an activist group that works for fundamental social change and youth empowerment. They organize benefit and free concerts, demonstrations and teach-ins and also do direct work with needy people. This group opposes racism, sexism, homohobia, militarism, violence, classism, heirachy, ageism, excessive materialism, economic inequality, censorship and discrimination against disabled people, among other things.


Washington Free ClinicThe mission of the Washington Free Clinic is to provide free primary health care services, to individuals who lack access to care, through a culturally-diverse, volunteer-based organization with emphasis on education, training and outreach.


Save TibetMore than a million Tibetans have died from the Chinese occupation of torture, starvation, and execution. More than 6,000 monasteries and their contents, irreplaceable jewels of Tibetan culture, were destroyed. This organization is trying to put an end to the brutality.


Support Fort RenoThis group puts on free summer concerts in the DC Area. Four years ago, the DC Government stopped funding Neighborhood Planning Council youth programs, including the summer band concerts at Fort Reno, sponsored by NPC 5 & 6. This group needs your help to keep the free concerts running.


Emmaus Services for the Aging Emmaus Services for the Aging seeks out isolated older persons and brings services and companionship directly to their homes through the efforts of a small staff and a large corps of volunteers. Thanks to Brian Shapiro.


Food Not Bombs Society and government should value human life over material wealth. Many of the problems in the world stem from this simple crises in values. By giving away free food to people in need in public spaces, Food Not Bombs directly dramatizes the level of hunger in this country and the surplus of food being wasted.
