Restorative Yoga Training
|
Objective: The 20 hour/four week Training Program
provides a complete and integrated foundation for the
teaching and practice of Restorative Yoga as a healing art.
Restorative yoga adapts classical asana practice to de-emphasize
physical work and emphasize release of tension and gentle re-alignment.
Using a series of passive forward bends, back bends inversions,
and reclining poses, restorative yoga both calms the mind
and stimulates the movement of prana or life force throughout the
entire body. These supported "restoratives" activate the parasympathetic
nervous system (the body's natural healing system) and
are beneficial to everyone seeking stress reduction, and opportunities
for well being through stillness.
Understand the theory and principles of Restorative Yoga
Learn how to use props and variations
Explore classical yogic breathing techniques that increase relaxation
Practice therapeutic restorative yoga series sequences
Experience yogic practices that compliment Restorative Yoga such as sacred sound, mudras, and yoga nidra
A certificate of completion will be granted after successful
completion of the program.
