Q.
Is it too scary for kids ?
A.
Kids love it .. (of course there will be the odd kids that get scared.
but these are usually the ones that are afraid of a "Mall Santa" as well).
Most children seem to want to go through again.
Q.
Why do you do this ?
A.
Because we're a little weird ... that ... and it's fun. It
feels great to see everyone's faces when they come out, and its nice to
think we can provide something safe and fun, and keep Halloween alive.
Q.
Where do you get all the props and stuff ?
A.
We produce practically everything from scratch, with a few obvious exceptions.
Q.
What's it all made from ?
A.
Walls, columns and arches are made from styrofoam on a wood structure.
They're all designed from logical architectural theory. In other
words, columns and arches are carefully planned to give the impression
of proper support.
Q.
How are the figures made ?
A.
They're carved from styrofoam, coated , and airbrushed. In the making
of Frankenstein, he was first sculpted using over 50 photos of Boris Karloff
in and out of make-up, as reference. Then we made a mold, and then
a casting from that.
Q.
Are they mannequins ?
A. No
... that would defeat the purpose of "We
make everything". Elvira for instance,
was created from a wood former construction, then filled with foam, then
carved to shape, sanded, and coated. She has over 100 hours of work
in her to date, and for the real enthusiast, yes ... she is anatomically
correct!
