Thompson Okanagan Branch

Vice President Report Fall 2008

With Sally Harrison’s very busy schedule I have been given the go ahead to write a few lines to let folks know how the Branch is doing.

Linda Drake our Branch member attended the workshop at the Boy Scout hall in Vernon on September 15th with a computer slide show presentation of the St John New Brunswick Conference that she attended in July.

Sally Harrison and Darlene Jones attended the Mini conference in Chilliwack September 27th weekend. Great camaraderie was enjoyed by Victoria, Vancouver, Chilliwack and Thompson Okanagan Branches. It was nice to see them all again and to exchange ideas and discuss common interests. Fred Hayward our new Dominion President was a big hit.

Our Branch received $250.00 for most improved membership for 2008. We will discuss plans for the windfall.

We held our Annual General Meeting October 18, 2008 at the Boy Scout Hall in Vernon. There were 8 in attendance. Sally Harrison, Pat Kelderman, Gerry Lewis, Marie Ablett, Darlene Jones, Gail Loughridge, Terry Lodge, Kathleen Lawson and Christine Pilgrim (guest)

Plans for the "Beyond the Mountains 2010" Dominion Conference are going well.

A special resolution to the Constitution, passed by unanimous vote will allow Sally Harrison to remain President until a new President is elected.

A pot luck lunch was enjoyed by all.

Members will meet on Wednesday October 22 at the Boy Scout hall in Vernon to help pack the Archives for the move to Peace Lutheran church when the Vernon & District Family History move.

November is fast approaching and our Branch will lay a wreath at the Remembrance day service at the Westbild in Vernon.

Our Christmas Party will be held December 6th at the residence of Sally Harrison in Vernon. Potluck.

Season’s greetings to all members and Branches.

I will keep you all updated when ever possible

Loyally Patricia Kelderman UE                                                                                                                                                                                       Vice President
