BRUCE IAN STUART MacPHERSON
[1922-2002]
BRUCE IAN STUART MacPHERSON, was born 11 April 1922 in Enderby, B.C. He married Dorothy Audrey Hopp [born 20 March 1924 in Edgewood, B.C.] on 15 November 1947 in Enderby. Ian enjoyed country life with his family on the original acreage homesteaded by his father in the 1920's. As a gifted machinist and mathematician, he divided his free time between fixing or fabricating anything and everything mechanical, including antique farming equipment. He attended to the operation of the farm and the forest harvesting business to the present day. Ian died August 14, 2002, at Hospice House .in Vernon., aged 80 years. Ian was predeceased by his wife, in 1992 and son Douglas Bruce in 1964. Two daughters; Dorothy Mavis MacPherson and Catherine Ellen [Cathie] Taggart [Brent], two grandchildren and a brother Donald (Moose) MacPherson of Enderby survive him.
Ian was a fourth generation pioneer of the Enderby area and a United Empire Loyalist. Ian is descended from two Loyalists William Stuart and Stephen Fountain. Their lines are as follow:

His son Stephen FOUNTAIN III was born 1789 in NB and died 1819 in NB.
He married Mercy STOVER
Their son Stephen FOUNTAIN IV was born 1810 in NB and died 1858 in NB
He married Jane E.
Their son Stephen FOUNTAIN V was born 1837 in NB and died 1876 in NB.
He married Eliza Matilda HENEY in 1865 in NB.
Their son Frank Sabine FOUNTAIN born 1866 in NB and died 1938 in NB.
Frank married Maria Belle STUART on 3 June 1886 in NB
Their daughter Sarah Luella FOUNTAIN born 30 April 1900 in NB and died 1961 in Enderby, B.C.
Sarah married John A.D. MacPHERSON
Their son was Bruce Ian Stuart MacPHERSON
Ian’s STUART line is as follows:
William STUART born 1752 in Mass, USA and died 1830 in NB.
William married Elizabeth INGERSOLL on 8 Dec 1775 in USA He received a land grant in 1784.
Their son Simeon STUART was born 1795 in NB and died 1828 also in NB.
Simeon married Dorcas PENDLETON on 4 March 1814 in NB.
Their son Joseph Maloney STUART was born 1826 in NB he died 1912 also in NB.
Joseph married Sarah Adelaide LORD on 20 Nov. 1853 in NB.
Their daughter Maria Belle STUART was born 3 June 1866 in NB and died 1938 also in NB.
With Maria’s marriage to Frank Sabine FOUNTAIN on 3 June 1886 in NB the joining of two UEL families is complete!
