Lodge

1933 - 1997

Terry was born in Wallasey, Cheshire, England, across the Mersey from Liverpool, his mother's families were prominent in the communities surrounding Liverpool. (Edwards, Craig, Massey). He came to Canada in 1939 aboard the Cunard liner "SS Franconia" in a convoy, as shortly before his emigration WWII had been declared.

He received his schooling in West Vancouver, and graduated UBC in 1956 with a degree in Commerce, with a Forestry Option. His wife-to-be (Terry Pearson) graduated from St. Paul's School of Nursing in 1956 and were married in June of the same year. (busy time).

The Lodges moved to to Vernon in 1977 where Terry was in the lumber business, but the bank took it in the infamous year of 1980, and wife Terry returned to nursing, retiring in 1994. Mr. Terry's cardiac disease dogged him, but he was very supportive of his wife's genealogy, and he took on the job of treasurer for the newly formed Thompson-Okanagan Branch of the UEL for the years 1994-1997.

Terry is survived by his wife Terry (Teresa), UE4 and six children: Kathy Black of Sexsmith, AB; Barbare Hartly of Vernon; Beverlee Pecor of Vernon; Steven of Vernon; Suzanne Haddow of Revelstoke; and Terry Lee Cross of Vernon. And their families, 11 grandchildren in all.

Both of Terry Pearson's parents were descended from Loyalists. Her father's families had land grants in Ontario. Her mother's family joined the North-Westers Company of fur traders and ultimately ended up in Vancouver.
