Storage & Moving Tips
- Place items that you need frequent access to at the front of your locker.
- Create a detailed inventory of your stored items and their locations and clearly label all boxes with contents in order to facilitate ease of access.
- Use boxes that are all the same size for easy stacking.
- Ensure boxes are completely sealed with packing tape to keep dust out.
- Stack lighter boxes on top of the heavier boxes to prevent sagging or crushing.
- Wrap fragile items in cloths or towels to ensure safe transport.
- Boxes that contain books, CDs and magazines are extremely heavy. Use smaller boxes to ensure ease of mobility.
- Remove table legs and furniture feet to optimize space.
- Stand couches and love seats on end to make the most use of your space.
- Create a checklist of things to do before your move, for example; change address with post office; cancel internet; etc.
