Free the Children is a charity focusing on child rights in developing countries as well as helping some communities to break out of the cycle of poverty. It provides 2 basic programs: North American Outreach (educating American & Canadian teens on social issues) and the Adopt-A-Village program (families in developing countries receive health care, education, skills training, and access to fresh water).

Whether it is a child sitting in a classroom for the first time, or a North American teenager who is inspired to take action, Free the Children makes a difference. Through the SGC's fundraising, the school is more than halfway to building a school in India!

• Over 50% of Indian population live in poverty, over 40% of them children
• Over 50,000 children are abandoned annually by parents who could no longer support them
• Children often sold into child labor to repay debts parents owe(usually below $60CDN, yet literally net worth of kids)
• Forced to work in dangerous conditions, suffer from abuse, malnutrition and disease.

This cannot go on! Knowlege is the only key to break out of this cycle of poverty, and our fundraising will soon provide over 400 children with this opportunity.
