History Formed in 1985 after the demise of Neill Solomon's Bazaar. Stuart Wood, Ian Mitchell and George Spencer went to South Africa to meet with Neil Solomon to hear his band The Passengers. Neil asked them to join. Over the rest of the year the band performed throughout South Africa. In 1986 Les called Ian and Stuart to join him and Pat for another reunion tour of the Bay City Rollers in Japan. It was a way of earning some money to get the band to the UK. After the tour they all went to the UK. It was at this time Ian left the band. The Passengers recorded thier first single Bulk the Super Hero, followed by Hold On which went to #5. Finally the band was highlighted by the South African Broadcast Corporation. The Passengers finally got a record deal and released Rule of the Swallow. n time the band disbanded and Staurt and Neil went onto writing music for stage productions. |
