History 1997-1998 The Bluebottles were formed after the demise of Duncan Faure's First World band. Along with fellow South African Mark Townsend, Duncan Faure looked to form a new band. Together they teamed up and came to North America and appearred in a few concerts and a Rollerfest. Ian Mitchell and Eric Lannon who Duncan had worked previously in the Joybuzzers provided assistance in several of the concerts. It should be noted that Ian and Eric were not official bandmembers. When Eric was not available Chico would fill in on drums. He became a fan favorite with his outgoing personality.Duncan, Mark and Chico were performing together at private concert 'Rollerfest New Orleans' when Ian made a surprise appearance and joined them. Brother was released as the bands only single. 1998-1999 Mali Sewell was brought in as drummer along with Gavin Muller on bass, both South Africans. The Bluebottles were now complete. Another tour of the US occurred and thier first appearance in Canada at Shang A Lang which also had a guest appearance of Stuart Wood joing them on Rock and Roll Loveletter. The Bluebottles would appear regularily in South Africa.
