Below is a weekly chart for my children. The chart gets posted on our fridge and contains daily chores (homework, piano practicing, etc.) which the kids need to complete and then check off. At the end of the week, if any chores remain uncompleted, allowances are docked accordingly. We hope this system will result in less parent/child conflict and less parental gray hair! 2011 UPDATE: Haven't used the charts in a several years. Kids are 16 and 13 this year. They know their chores and know that if they don't do them they don't get their allowance. What do teenagers want more than extra sleep??? MONEY! They do their chores! Charts worked great at the time tho.
