Building a module
The framework is completed, cork and track are laid for one of the main lines,
and the 110 volt wiring is completed.
The other main line has been added, the landforms have been plastered except
for a small part at the front which still shows the screen wire formed over
some scraps of styrofoam.
Now it starts to look like something. Some rock castings have been added and
coloured with washes of grey, brown and black. Near the back, the bottom of the
lake has recieved the first coat of paint. Up front, on the right, we have
started planting ground foam in the grassy areas. And the dirt road to the lake has
been rough painted.
The rest of the grass has been planted. The lake bottom has been darkened a bit (more paint,
because the first coat always soaks into the plaster).
The stone foundation (plaster castings) for the lodge has been added and stained using
the same method as the rock castings.
The track crew has been back and ballasted the track, and the landscapers have added
some rocks and sand along the edges of the lake.
More pictures to come as construction progresses.
More information on how we build modules is on the demo module page.
