Flames' Fleury wins NHL Player of the Week honors
NEW YORK (Dec 18, 1995 - 16:29 EST) -- Calgary Flames right wing Theoren
Fleury is the National Hockey League Player of
the Week.
Fleury had four goals and six assists last week to help the Flames to
a 2-1-1 mark. He edged Anaheim left wing Paul Kariya and Winnipeg right
wing Teemu Selanne for the award.
Fleury started the week with his eighth career hat trick in a 6-2 home
win over the Los Angeles Kings. He followed that performance with a four-assist
night against the Dallas Stars. He also had a goal in the 8-4 road win.
The eight-year veteran registered one assist in a 3-3 tie against the
St. Louis Blues and finished the week with another assist in a 6-3 loss
to the Boston Bruins.
Fleury, 27, leads the Flames in scoring with 37 points, including 12
goals, in 32 games.
