AREA 42 BUSINESS MEETING

COMMITTEE REPORTS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
- Shawn asked assembly if there were any clubs wishing to volunteer
at this time to host the Area 42 Spring Conference in early April
2007. Dale Grieves said she would
ask the City Centre Club if they were interested.
- Shawn asked assembly if there were any clubs wishing to volunteer
to host the Division D Spring conference that they contact Curtis Harvie, Division D Governor, by Oct. 11. Al Daem, Area
45 Governor reported that Area 45 may be interested and that he had
inquired about rates at the Lake Ellis Hot Springs. The Dinner price was quoted as $10/head
if 25 min. attend and they may throw in the conference room rental. Room rates will also be reasonable since
business is slow.
- Shawn relayed a message from Curtis Harvie,
Division D Governor, who congratulated Area 45 as being the only area in
Div. D that had all clubs pay their semi-annual dues and fulfill their
officer training requirements.
CLUB REPORTS:
- Cariboo: Club has many younger members
with a membership base of approximately 20. Guests are always welcome but calling
first is recommended since they occasionally meet in alternative locations
such as a restaurant or Fort George Park.
- Hart: Small membership base of approximately 8 but members are
committed and active. Several new
guests have attended recently.
- City Centre: Since this club breaks for summer, there is always
energy that must be expended to restart each fall. The meetings are tentatively scheduled
to Dec. and the Club has a membership base of approximately 21. The club was able to field two
successful contests.
- New Dimension: This club is
the only advanced speaker club in Prince George and is the only club that
meets on a monthly basis (3rd Friday at Pepsi Room of the Prince
George Golf and Curling Club). It
is a dinner meeting club that focuses on advanced evaluations and advanced
manual projects. The recruitment
market for this club is CTMs(CCs) and above and near CTMs(CCs)but
all are welcome to attend as guests.
The VPED, Shirley Shorter, has the entire annual education program
organized.
