Forward Well met, travelers, and welcome to Galubé (GAH-le-bay), portal to civilization. Take a load off and rest a while. I am Haz'zim, proprietor of the Pint of Happiness and your host for tonight. Most here are wayfarers, either seeking glory in the Unknown East or returning with wagons full of treasure. They all share their stories with me, and I will hear yours, too! But first, enjoy your drink as I tell you of this fair village. What first appeared here was a tower, erected by the Watchers of Helm long before any man here can remember. Today 'tis a bell tower, part of the church of Helm. The Watchers still protect us from goblinoids and brigands. That is a promise to the good of you and a warning to the rest! And if you run up a tab you cannot pay, they take you for labour until you can work off your debt. One man in five here suffers that fate - but they agree 'tis better than hanging! The Council of Seven leads us in wisdom. With two seats belonging to the church, the Watchers will is usually done. The fine towns of Holton and Summerdale lie to the west, and are our essential trading partners. We import much of what we use, and export smolder wood and ore. Fairy folk are thick in these woods, so it is best not to wander off the road - or at least see the druid first before heading out there. What is out there worth seeing, you ask? This place may not be as exciting as the Unknown East, but we have elven ruins from milenia past all throughout these woods. The Giant Spires and Goblin Woods lie many days to the north, and beyond that are werewolves, and the land that I come from. But that story is for another time. Tell me now, what of your travels? |

First let me warn those of you familiar with PBeM gaming that this is no typical game. The characters are not all together, involved, or even fighting on the same side. Your actions are only communicated to those in your group and passers-by who witness them. Let me show you what that means to gameplay:
- Because of the secrecy in this game, true lurking is not possible. Lurkers will need to create characters who follow a particular group around.
- Be sure you are using an e-mail address specifically for gaming, or at the least set up a filter to move game e-mails to a folder.
- Write your e-mails in third person, and avoid any internal dialogue and volumous descriptions. Shorter e-mails more often will keep things rolling!
- Game time flows at a set rate, 1/3 real time. Three real days pass for one game day, typically split into morning, day and evening.
- In order to keep the game moving, each player controls a certain portion of the game, somewhat like a DM would. At a minimum this means his own character, pets and henchmen.
- As the game evolves, a player may also take control of buildings, businesses, and geographic locations.

- A player may write on behalf of any level-0 NPC in order to move the story along.
