Dual Mountain

Silver Star Mountain is located 22Km Northeast of Vernon in the  Okanagan Valley, BC, Canada and offers a wide range of activities all year round.  It is noted for its family atmosphere in a Victorian setting. A great place for a summer or winter holiday.

In the winter the average snowfall exceeds 18 ft., temperatures are moderate, and there are activities for all ages.   While Silver star is known as  a family mountain - there are two distinct faces with two distinct personalities. The front side (Vance Creek Face) with sweeping wide blue cruisers is perfect for long, easy runs and the back side (The Putnam Creek Face), is much steeper and deeper with the most double-black diamond terrain in the BC interior.  There is literally, plenty of terrain for every level of skier, snowboarder and cross country skier!  There is even a hike-in only adventure skiing and boarding called Valhalla, where the powder is always fresh and deep!

In the summer there is hiking, mountain biking, and in-line skating for those whose energy abounds.  For the more sedate there are paved pathways to stroll, a chair lift ride to picnic amongst the alpine flowers.  And if that can't keep you entertained there are horseback trails, an indoor climbing wall, and a full gymnasium. The mountain is 10 to 15 degrees cooler then the Okanagan Valley where there is world class golfing and great swimming at the  lake side beaches.
