John Armstrong is an artist and a producer, who works mostly with music and new media. Whether he's laying down bass with the Stone Merchants, manipulating Theremin and electronica with LEO.fx or staging guerrilla-style, community folk festivals, John is all about musical interactivity.
In recent years, many of his project shave also utilized film, video and computer media.
Since establishing Brass Monkey Productions in 1991, John has produced and performed on numerous independent recordings and live events, including the Christmas Carol Project (1996 to present), and Sasquatch Music Festival (1996 to present).
Playing guitar and piano, Michelle has performed at various folk and rock festivals across western Canada such as "North Country Fair" in Joussard, Alberta and the "Regina Folk Music Festival" in Regina, Saskatchewan. Since 1998, Michelle has released two solo independent albums reality and Another Take both have received rave reviews. Michelle also has a new recording - This Room - an 11 song expressive rock album, produced By Todd Bryanton of sutureself studios . This Room is featuring Todd Bryanton on drums and Rob Dakeniewich on bass.

Michelle has contributed both music and visual art to Cortex. Thom Golub lives as a bassist and composer in upper western Canada.  He has developed and maintains a strong interest in improvised creative music.  He is a co-founder of The Improvised Network (TIN).  TIN produced two festivals of improvisation and ran a weekly creative music series, off and on, for five years.  The collective produced over 100 CDR releases. 
Thom loves to play the bass in solo or quasi solo (ie with a dancer) contexts.  He works in collaboration with dancer Gerry Morita in the improvising duo:  Foiled.  He also provided accompaniment for Japanese dance master Mari Osanai (along with dancers Gerry Morita and Theresa Dextrase) in her fall 2006 dance lab hosted by Mile Zero Dance in Edmonton. 
Thom has released about ten CDs of solo bass improvisation to date; the two most recent - The Dove in the Belly and Fire Muse - were released on Arrival Records.  Bass Lexicon, a twenty minute improvisation recorded in Calgary in 2004,  will be released in later 2006 on houseleekaudio.  Another three 20 minute solo bass improvisations - entitled 60 minutes - will be released late 2006 early 2007 on Arrival Records.
Clarinetist Don Ross is the leader of Saint Crispin’s Chamber Ensemble. Since 1994 the group has been broadcast frequently on CBC radio and has recordings on the Clef Records, Arktos and Eclectra labels. In the last year the group has appeared at New Music in New Places, New Works Calgary, Wednesdays at Winspear and the Edmonton Fringe and International Film festivals. Don also appears regularly as a soloist and orchestra player, most recently with the Edmonton and Prince George Symphonies, the Calgary Opera and the Citadel Theatre Orchestra. He is at the forefront of the Edmonton new music scene and is a frequent collaborator with Mile Zero Dance, the Edmonton Composers’ Concert Society and the Boreal Electroacoustic Music Society. He was recently named an Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Centre.
Don teaches at Alberta College Conservatory and The King’s University College and he is much in demand as a clinician, adjudicator, conductor and composer. He holds music degrees from the Universities of Alberta and Toronto, as well as a Master’s from Northwestern University in Chicago.
