The opposite of a warm fuzzy is a cold prickly. I hope I won’t have to give anyone a cold prickly.

MELISSA’S COLUMN

Gerry: Fantastic goals! I think that guy from the other team was trying to recruit you!

Jenn: Great job on all your breakaways. Also, great job on staying for beers after the game. I wish everyone on the team had the same commitment to drinking.

Sarah: You’re more like Beauty than the Beast…they were just frustrated by their lack of talent. Great hustle, like always!

Erin: The suggestion that Sarah moon the opposing team was both shocking and hilarious. Good job keeping up the moral of the team!

Ben: Great goal…well kind of. I am going to be sad when you leave.

Boyko: I believe you had the game of your life! You were so good it was almost unfair…but who said we play fair! Cold Prickly for pushing a girl (even though it made me feel kinda warm and fuzzy).

Rachelle: You are strong on defense and did a great job clearing the ball.

Lana: You are shockingly aggressive for someone so petite! I think I saw you straight-arm a guy! You will have no problem in Thompson.

Jeff: Its always fun to have you out! Great goal!

ANONYMOUS WARM FUZZIES

For Erin:

‘Erin your improvement from our first game to this game was huge! You weren’t afraid to go to the ball and you were always following your man when you needed to. Its exciting to see your angel skills progress….Your wings are taking you to new heights! Congrats!’

For Ben:

‘Ben you are a powerhouse in net! Not only do you have this awesome advantage of being taller than the net (eliminating balls flying over your head), you’re also an aggressive keeper. You get right in there using your angel powers to dive for the ball. I think I speak for everyone here….Keeper is your Angel calling!’

MELISSA’S COLUMN

Shawna:
I was impressed by your strong kicks on Tuesday’s game. Also, your aim was immaculate!

Boyko:
Once again, props for all your great work on the web site! You have really outdone yourself. It’s nice to see your talents being put to use outside of the goal net (and onto the inter-net!)

Erin:
You visibly improve every time you play. I noticed this at both games as well as practice. I cannot wait to see how you do next week at forward; I bet you will rock it!

Kevin:
As well as being one of our more experience players; you also take the initiative of communicating with us beginners on and off the bench in order to make the game run smoothly. If we were to have a coach (besides Boyko), I think you would do a great job at it!

Gerry:
You are wild on the field! I am happy to be playing with you, rather than against you. Props on your assist.

Alan:
You were extremely valuable to our team yesterday. Props on getting the first goal of the season and for assisting on my goal!

Rachelle:
I noticed you putting the moves that Lori taught us on Sunday to good use. Kudos on playing with an injury and kudos on being so cute!

Devon:
Great hustle in Tuesday’s game. Welcome to Bucko’s Angels! Can’t wait to see more of what you got!

Jen:
Props for scoring a goal in your first soccer game ever. Very commendable. You are an inspiration to the hundreds of women everywhere!

Sarah:
You had a lot of hustle. You also had fantastic communication with your teammates.

Dean:
You have a monstrous kick and it came in handy quite a bit when you were on defense.

Deidre:
I don’t believe you’ve never played before! Your high level of endurance has been, and will

continue to be, beneficial to our team.

Janice:
Congratulation at completing your first game of soccer. You reacted quickly to a lot of situations and were not scared to get in there one bit!

Ben:
Your hard work and new-found talent of tending goal did not go unnoticed. Your hard kick, which almost took out a light, also did not go unnoticed.

Snaps everyone! Snaps again to Lori for Sunday!
