Virginia Creek Railway
Jim Banner's Virginia Creek Railway - 3
This is the train that started it all on one of Saskatoon's earliest Large Scale Railways. The V.C.R. began outdoor operations in the spring of 1988 with one New Bright train set. That summer, it acquired a second set. One box car from each set, along with a tank car scratch built in p.v.c. plastic and a gondola scratchbuilt in wood, made up the one and only train. The running gear for the scratchbuilt cars was salvaged from the tender and the caboose of the second set. The caboose body was used for a line side shack, visible a short distance behind the train. The V.C.R. right-of-way occupies very little space between the lawn and flower garden.
